A superb example of a traditional Italian terracotta olive jar. Widespread patination and ageing suggest this item be over 100 years of age and certainly pre-1920.
This our largest Orcio. Although some are slightly taller, this one has the widest diameter and is a sizeable statement piece.
There are no visible potters stamps or dates marked, but we know the collection pre-dates 1920 although we guess that it is quite a bit older than 100 years based on the terracotta weathering. It has an amazing patina and widespread lichen growth, which turns a magnificent pale pink hue in warmer weather.
A personal favorite that would look impressive as a piece of interior design if you have the room!
